The Women’s Program at Community Fly Fishing creates a welcoming space for community members who identify as women to connect, learn, and experience the joy of fly fishing together. Through hands-on instruction, supportive community events, and shared time on the water, we aim to build confidence, skills, and lasting connections in the outdoors. Whether you’re brand new to fly fishing or looking to grow your experience, this program offers a supportive environment where everyone belongs.

Janet Janet’s first fishing experience was with her grandparents while out on a family road trip. She could barely see over a store counter then, but that has never stopped her from being drawn to the healing effects of standing in the water and to the tug at the end of the line. From casting a fly line or fluro from a spinning reel, and everything in between, all fish are welcome to take a bite. Serving the surrounding community by volunteerism has led Janet to being a long time volunteer for MaxFund Animal Adoption Center, Girls Rock Denver, and now, Community Fly Fishing. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, and yes, tying flies (especially at the last minute), and playing acoustic lap slide guitar.
The Community Fly Fishing team is currently designing programming specifically for our Women’s Initiatives, and we’d love your input.
Our goal is to build a program designed by the community, for the community — one that truly reflects the voices, experiences, and interests of folx who identify as women in fly fishing.
